DRIGGS, Idaho — Fall River Electric will bring its annual Energy Expo and business meeting to Teton High School on June 13, offering eastern Idaho community members a blend of education, entertainment, and hands-on activities. As one of the region’s enduring electric cooperatives, Fall River Electric is inviting its 16,000 members and their families to participate in a morning of engagement and learning.
Energy Expo Connects Community and Cooperative
The event, a fixture in Idaho’s calendar, is free for all Fall River Electric customers. This year’s Energy Expo aims to create connections between the cooperative, its members, and local communities across Teton Valley, Island Park, West Yellowstone, and surrounding counties. In addition to fostering these ties, the Expo serves as an opportunity to share knowledge about energy use and innovations directly with attendees.
Location and Time
Set to take place at Teton High School, the Expo opens its doors at 8 a.m. and runs until 10 a.m. Guests will be treated to a free breakfast, making it easy for families to participate before the official business meeting begins. Organizers suggest arriving early to secure the available giveaways and enjoy the full range of activities.
Family-Friendly Activities and Giveaways
Fall River Electric’s Energy Expo is designed as a family event, with activities and educational opportunities for all ages. Perhaps most notably, children will have the unique chance to take part in bucket truck rides led by highly trained linemen activities. Additional attractions such as bounce houses and a climbing wall promise to keep younger attendees entertained.
The cooperative is also offering a variety of giveaways. The first 300 people through the doors will receive an Idaho cutting board shaped from bamboo, along with a reusable tote. For the first 350 attendees, a thermostatic outlet will be provided, allowing recipients to better manage their home energy use with modern technology.
Promoting STEM Education
With a continued focus on education, the Expo is set to feature numerous STEM activities that engage children in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. Organizers hope to spark curiosity and provide a foundation for future learning. As a special incentive, kids who complete all designated STEM challenges will walk away with complimentary school backpacks—an added benefit as families prepare for the next academic year.
Honoring Cooperative Heritage and Service
Founded in 1938 by local farm families near Ashton, Fall River Electric has grown alongside Idaho’s communities, becoming a vital electric cooperative serving a broad expanse of the region. This annual gathering reflects the organization’s mission to empower and educate its membership, while also celebrating decades of dedicated service.
Community Engagement at the Forefront
By hosting the Energy Expo at Teton High School, Fall River Electric underscores its commitment to remaining accessible and relevant to Idaho residents. The event comes as many households seek practical information about energy usage and the benefits of cooperative membership. For those in attendance, the Expo provides an opportunity to engage directly with Fall River Electric staff, learn about recent advancements, and enjoy time with neighbors and friends.
Whether taking part in STEM activities, experiencing bucket truck rides, or simply enjoying a free breakfast with the community, attendees can look forward to a morning that blends tradition with innovation. Fall River Electric’s long-standing presence in eastern Idaho continues to support local families, foster cooperative values, and promote an informed and connected region.
