Predator: Badlands Brings a New Predator Perspective

Fans of the Alien vs. Predator universe have been anticipating a new movie, but what was just revealed is a rather unexpected development. The premise of the film, according to the recently released first teaser trailer, is not to show the well-known monster from the big screen once again killing his victims. Instead, the alien hunter himself, expelled from the clan, is the protagonist.

Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi is playing the role of Dek, a young Predator forced to leave his community. He appears to be the antagonist in the film’s plot; however, the trailers depict a young man who is the defender of his family, whom he must care for alongside a Weyland-Yutani android Thia (Elle Fanning). Predator: Badlands will be a new attempt by 20th Century Studios to develop the lore and expand the universe, but with this film, they also decided to make the great monster of the universe the main character of their narrative.
